The good news is that Northamptonshire County Council’s Highways Department (NCCHD) is at last doing something this month and next about the dreadful state of Banbury Lane, Bulls Lane and Upper Astrop Road in King’s Sutton. The bad news is that these roads will be closed for much of the day while repairs take place. There are also temporary road closures scheduled in Aynho this month. (Closed routes are marked with red dotted lines on the map above.)

Here are the details:

  • Temporary road closures will be in force between 09:30 and 15:30 for the duration of the works:
  1. 13/07/2015 - 21/07/2015 – Charlton Road, Aynho. The 499 bus will stop on Portway for Aynho then turn right and follow the normal route between 09:30 and 15:30 for the duration of the works. Click here to view, download or print NCCHD’s recommended diversion route for vehicular traffic.
  2. 22/07/2015 - 24/07/2015 – B4100, Aynho. Click here to view, download or print NCCHD’s recommended diversion route for vehicular traffic.
  3. 27/07/2015 - 31/07/2015 – Banbury Lane/Bulls Lane, King’s Sutton. The 499 bus stops at Cannings Garage will not be served between 09:30 and 15:30 for the duration of the works. Click here to view, download or print NCCHD’s recommended diversion route for vehicular traffic.
  4. 03/08/2015 - 05/08/2015 – Upper Astrop Road, King’s Sutton, will be closed between Orchard Way and Astrop Road.
  • Peak time traffic (including 499 bus journeys) will not be affected by the works.
  • The King’s Sutton/Banbury Shopper Bus will still run on Thursday July 30, 2015 as usual but there will be no pick-up or set-down in Banbury Lane.
