This year’s Poppy Appeal and acts of remembrance

October 24th, 2016

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal for 2016 officially commences on October 29, 2016 with house-to-house and static collections around the village. Poppies will be (and in some cases already are) available from village shops, pubs, the Post Office, King’s Sutton Primary Academy and the Hairdresser. We’re confident that King’s Sutton residents can be relied upon to continue their brilliant support for this annual appeal and the Royal British Legion’s vital work to help our Armed Forces and their families.

Remembrance Events

  • A short Combined Commemoration of Armistice Day will be held at the War Memorial on Friday November 11 at 10:55. Refreshments will be available afterwards in the Parish Church Hall.
  • An Act of Remembrance wil also be held on Remembrance Sunday (November 13, 2016) at the War Memorial at 10:55 followed by a Service in the Parish Church.
