County Council Election, Middleton Cheney, May 2017 – Conservative Candidate Statement

Rebecca Breese, Conservative

I have lived in the area for 22 years, raised and educated my three children in local schools and immersed myself in the fabric of our local community.

For several years I have been the District Councillor for Steane Ward, right in the heart of the division, at South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) and I now hope to take my knowledge and experience to the next tier of local government, addressing local issues and representing your interests at county level.

I have extensive experience of working in planning, having been the portfolio holder at SNC for five years. I have a track record of fighting for local interests, including the problematic A422, raising awareness at Cherwell District Council of the impact of development in Banbury on our local rural road network, and persuading SNC to challenge the reduction of services at the Horton Hospital through the courts.

Persuading all the agencies/parties involved in delivering the flood alleviation scheme will be ongoing!

As well as understanding the strategic issues of the area, I work as a specialist benefits advisor for Citizens Advice in Brackley, where I help many local residents when they need impartial advice.

My priorities for the Middleton Cheney Division are:

  • Improving the state of our roads
  • Supporting the provision of a relief road in Farthinghoe
  • Supporting the right infrastructure for new developments
  • Delivering for vulnerable people
  • Preserving our local community assets
  • A local resident for local issues

I hope you will be able to support me on 4th May.
