A-one+, a company that manages and maintains East Midlands trunk roads and motorways on behalf of the Highways Agency, has announced road works on the Ml northbound carriageway starting September 5. The works involve road marking and stud renewal activities along the M1 between Junction 14 and Junction 16 on the northbound carriageway. These works are essential maintenance to help maintain road safety.
Works are expected to start on Monday, September 5 and should be complete by Sunday, September 18, assuming reasonable weather conditions. Between these dates, it will be necessary to close the exit and entry slip roads at Ml Junctions 15 and 15A and the entry slip road at Junction 16. This will happen in phases and at night time only to minimise disruption to road users. There will also be lane closures on the Ml northbound carriageway itself. These closures are to ensure the safety of road users and the workforce.
There will be a 50 mph speed restriction in operation during these works. Diversion routes will also be in place during the works and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. To keep disruption to a minimum, the site will operate at night time only. The working hours are set out below:
