A gentle reminder for people to be vigilant at all times when walking alone

July 6th, 2017

We’ve received a report from the PC 911 Mel Carter of the Northamptonshire Police Local Response Team at Towcester that on Wednesday last week, June 28 at 14:50, a male youth followed a 16-year-old school-girl in uniform from King’s Sutton train station, having boarded the same train as her at Oxford.

This man walked extremely closely behind the schoolgirl, following her for around 10 minutes and causing her some distress. At one point he stood in front of her and asked for her Snapchat details, which may of course have been completely innocent. However, his manner caused her to fear for her safety.

The male is described as white, 18/19 years old, 5’ 7” - 5’ 8” tall and of skinny build. He was clean shaven with light brown/ginger, jaw length hair. He wore black trainers, blue jeans, a black gilet and a rucksack.

A gentle reminder for people to be vigilant at all times when walking alone.
