Once again there are reports of attempted theft of lead from church roofs. The most recent was at St Mary’s church, Barby, in the Daventry deanery on the evening of 30th June. Although lead on the porch roof was disturbed, none was stolen on this occasion.
This sort of theft can be very expensive to put right as well as risking considerable damage to the vulnerable mediaeval building.
It would be a great help if members of the community could keep an eye on our beautiful King's Sutton Parish church and report any suspicious activity to Father Roger, the Churchwarden or to the police as appropriate.
