What are Flood Wardens?

Flood wardens are volunteers from the local community who help raise awareness of any flood risks in the area by:

  • Monitoring the condition of drains, culverts, streams and other watercourses
  • Reporting any defects or blockages to the appropriate agency or landowners
  • Helping to pass on flood warnings when they are issued
  • Providing the relevant agencies with local information during a flood event

If you are interested in getting involved or would like to find out more, please visit www.floodtoolkit.com to look at the Flood Warden Handbook or use the email link below to write in.
