Private CCTV evidence leads to fine for irresponsible King’s Sutton dog walker

June 6th, 2018

A King’s Sutton dog walker who failed to clear up after her animal was ordered to pay £50 after a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) was issued by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) last month. A woman walking a dog in the village in March was recorded on private CCTV allowing the animal to defecate on a public footpath and was then seen to walk away without clearing it up. The offender was reported to SNC, and the council’s environmental enforcement team were then able to identify her. She was then invited for interview at the council’s offices in Towcester. She admitted the offence, and accepted and paid the fine.

Cllr Dermot Bambridge, SNC’s portfolio holder for environmental services, says:

“...dog foulers beware, there doesn’t have to be an environmental enforcement officer on every corner. The vast majority of responsible citizens of this district are also watching.”
