“IT’s for the KIDS”, the charity supporting King’s Sutton Primary Academy, is bidding to win a massive cash boost from Tesco’s “Bags of Help” initiative, which sees grants of up to £4,000 raised from carrier bag sales in its stores awarded to local community projects.
Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for whoever they think should take away the top grant. The IT’s for the KIDS Playground Makeover project for King’s Sutton Primary Academy is one of the three groups selected for the shortlist in Tesco’s Brackley stores.
The Playground Makeover will provide exercise tracks to encourage children to be more active, and new games linked to literacy and maths to improve their outdoor play experience. Katy Downes, chair of IT’s for the KIDS, says: “This is such an exciting opportunity for King’s Sutton Primary Academy. We’re really hoping shoppers will vote for us, so we can start to improve our playground facilities. We’ve all got our fingers crossed!”
Voting is open in both Tesco stores in Brackley throughout July and August. Customers cast their votes using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.
