King’s Sutton residents Reg and Alison Howe scooped up three more awards for their dining and catering business at the recent Food Awards England ceremony in Manchester. Reg’s Café won “Best Vegetarian Establishment in the South of England” and “Overall best Vegetarian Establishment in England” as well as “Best Café Bistro in the South East of England” for the fourth year running.
These latest triumphs come in a year when Reg’s Café has already won “Best Bistro Café in Oxfordshire” at The Lux Awards. Reg and Alison are also hoping to receive their third Blue Ribbon Award this year from The Good Food Guide.
“It’s great to have our offerings for vegetarians recognised alongside our usual plain British cooking,” says Alison. “We’ve worked hard to ensure we have a wide selection of items on the menu for people who are looking for healthy choices, and we’re proud that they’ve proved to be so popular with our regular customers. We’re also delighted, of course, that our whole menu continues to receive industry accolades at national and regional levels. Not bad when you consider that we had no catering experience at all when we started our business just under six years ago!”
