Free activity sessions for young people in King’s Sutton

August 4th, 2019

From this week, young people between seven and 13 years of age who are at a loose end during the summer holidays can join free team sports sessions held by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) in King’s Sutton and elsewhere. Expanding on the success of the council’s previous holiday schemes, Youth Activator sessions this summer will reach more children than ever before by visiting six different communities in the district.

The sessions feature a range of team sports led by security-checked activity leaders. Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC’s portfolio holder for wellbeing, says:

“Six weeks away from school and away from their friends can make the holiday drag for some young people. These sessions will bring together children from across the community as well as keeping them healthy and active. I hope they will provide them with lasting memories and friendships.”

Youth Activator sessions take place between 11:30 and 12:30 at the following venues:

  • Monday, August 5 – Hartwell Community Centre playing field
  • Tuesday, August 6 – Towcester Centre for Leisure all-weather pitch
  • Wednesday, August 7 – Roade Village Hall playing field
  • Thursday, August 8 – King’s Sutton Rec
  • Monday, August 12 – Greens Norton playing field
  • Tuesday, August 13 – Brackley Leisure Centre
