King’s Sutton Primary Academy is looking for school governors to join the local governing body, which is due to form before Easter. The school went into special measures in June last year and has faced significant challenges. It is now, however, well on the road to recovery and has thus far been supported by a Rapid Improvement Group (RIG) made up of parents and trust members as well as an independent chair.
The RIG is now ready to make the transition to a local governing body and expand its numbers. It is enormously important that members of the local community are involved. Any local resident who can give up some of their free time to support the village school would be very welcome to join.
The school needs people who can spare around an hour to visit the school during the day, just once a term, to meet staff and see the work of the school when it’s in session. Additionally, members would need to attend full Board meetings (four or five per year for up to two hours each) and committee meetings (again, four or five per year).
