February 17th, 2021
Overnight resurfacing works on A43 near M40 Junction 10
Works to carry out essential resurfacing on the A43 Padbury/Baynards Green and Cherwell roundabouts will commence on March 1 and are scheduled for completion on March 19, 2021. This comprehensive scheme of work will include resurfacing on the approaches and departures of Baynard Green and Padbury Brook Roundabouts. To keep the programme for these works as short as possible and to minimise disruption to the local community, the contractors will work overnight Monday – Friday between 20:00 and 06:00, beginning on the northbound carriageway for seven days before moving to the southbound for the remaining eight days. For the duration of the works, mixture of lane and full carriageway closures will be used with fully signed diversion routes in place. All carriageways will be open as usual outside working hours.
Chiltern Railways track to close over Easter
The Chiltern line between Banbury and Bicester North will be closed this Easter between April 2 and April 5 over a 101 hour period while work takes place on a new road bridge in Bicester. Trains to London Marylebone will be diverted via Oxford and a replacement bus will run between Bicester North and Banbury, calling at King’s Sutton. If you’re planning on travelling by train over the Easter weekend, you’re advised to leave more time to travel and to check your journey with their train operator or on the National Rail website.
