Kings Sutton Primary Academy is seeking additional members for its local governing board. Through the academy’s leaders, the board provides challenge and support to ensure it continues on its current journey of rapid improvement. The work of the board is vital not only so that the school is fully prepared for its next Ofsted inspection, but also so that it continues to thrive beyond that.
The governing board needs people who can give time to visit the school during the day, once a term, for around an hour to meet staff and see the work of the school when it is in session (or to meet remotely with staff during the present coronavirus restrictions). Additionally, members need to be able to attend full board meetings (approximately six per year for up to two hours) plus occasional other meetings, all of which usually take place in the early evening and are currently being held remotely.
The Primary Academy would particularly welcome expertise in the following areas:
People bringing other skills and expertise are also very welcome, but most importantly the governing board is hoping to attract those with a passion for education in general and the school in particular. Contributing to the work of the board is a great way to give back to the community. Due to the current composition of the board, expressions of interest from individuals who do not currently have children at the school would be especially welcome.
If you are interested and would like to put yourself forward, or need more information, please send a brief expression of interest and a pen portrait explaining any particular skills and expertise you have to John Watts, Acting Chair of Governors, using the email form at the link below.
