Cash Grants Available for Leisure and Recreational Facilities

March 7th, 2016

Various community projects in King’s Sutton, such as the Playing Fields and the allotments, benefitted last year from the first tranche of funds contributed by Banner Homes when the company obtained planning consent for its development off Banbury Lane. Now the Parish Council has a second tranche of funds amounting to some £25,000 available for similar projects in the village. Organisations offering leisure, recreational and open space facilities are invited to apply for a share of this money to help improve those facilities.

Expressions of interest, complete with rough estimates of the amount of money needed, must be received by the Parish Clerk no later than April 30, 2016. Click here for the clerk’s contact details.

Proposed projects must meet the criteria below to be considered. They must:

  • Fall within the terms of the Banner agreement, which requires that they “improve recreational facilities within the village of King’s Sutton”.
  • Involve capital expenditure, not simply contribute to running costs.
  • Provide long term future benefits.
  • Improve existing recreational facilities or add new ones.
  • Be of benefit to as wide a section of the community as possible.
