Next Monday, June 8, Highways England commences essential maintenance work on the A43 Ardley roundabout and adjoining M40 slip roads. The roadworks will involve partial reconstruction of the carriageway and drainage improvements. Other works include replacing high friction surfacing, damaged kerbs, lines and studs as well as other general maintenance. The works are scheduled for completion in July 2020 and to minimise disruption to the local community, the contractors will work:
To maintain a safe environment for the workforce and motorists, the contractors will need to use a mixture of lane and carriageway closures while they work. The programme of drainage works involves deep excavation of the carriageway, which necessitates the full weekend closure. During all road closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place. All carriageways will be open, as usual, when the contractors are not working. Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained wherever possible.
Overnight works to complete emergency barrier repairs are also scheduled for June on the A43 between Brackley and Silverstone.
