Last Night’s Public Meeting on the Barwood Homes Development

December 17th, 2012

Around 70 King’s Sutton residents attended last night’s public meeting arranged by the parish council to gauge the range of opinion in the village on the application by Northampton-based Barwood Homes to build 35 new houses on land to the north of Hampton Drive. The chairman of the parish council’s planning committee, Tom Forde, gave a presentation outlining the salient details of the application (see below). This was followed by a question and answer session. At the end of the meeting, a show of hands was taken and there were just two attendees who indicated that they were in favour of the development.

Commenting on the Application
Whether in favour of Barwood Homes’ planning application or against it, every King’s Sutton resident has the right to make his or her opinion known to the planning authority, South Northamptonshire Council. The council’s planning department will consider all views submitted by January 17, 2013. (Any submissions received after this date will not be taken into account.)

A group of residents opposed to Barwood Homes’ proposed development has produced a document containing guidelines on how to comment on that development effectively.
