General Election, South Northamptonshire, June 2017 – Labour Candidate Statement

I am honoured to stand as parliamentary candidate for the Labour Party in this beautiful constituency where I live and work.

As I have demonstrated when campaigning to protect local healthcare services, I am passionate about ensuring that everyone in this constituency has access to the medical care they need.

Improving roads and public transport will also help connect people to a wider community, whether for work, education or simply to overcome loneliness and isolation.

We also need to ensure that South Northants enjoys the best possible outcome of Brexit negotiations. Local businesses rightly demand reassurance on key topics such as who they can hire and what will replace EU funding, and – beyond Brexit – that fundamental issues will be addressed such as digital and mobile connectivity.

A local champion for local issues:

  • I pledge my commitment to protecting and growing your local health services and resolving the social care crisis.
  • I pledge my commitment to creating strong public transport links and improving the condition of our roads.
  • I pledge to support our farming community while doing all I can to protect the environment in South Northamptonshire.
  • I pledge to fight for the best Brexit deal for all of us – our funding, our workers, and our import and export costs.
  • I pledge to fight the cuts to our education funding to overcome the financial struggles our schools face – for our children’s futures.

A vote for me is a vote for a candidate with a local focus and a constant local presence. I’ll be here, listening, wherever and whenever you need me.
